SCOOP! AND the individuals with disabilities education act (IDEA)

IDEA provides regulatory guidance and financial assistance to states and schools districts in identifying and serving children with special education needs.

The IDEA includes two fundamental requirements: that the child will receive a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment.

IDEA Requirements	SCOOP! Features
IDEA ensure that children with disabilities, including children aged three through five, have access to a free appropriate public education to meet each child's unique needs and prepare him or her for further education, employment, and independent living.	SCOOP! offers special education students the technology-based for learning about current events for these students of all ages. Special needs accommodation features exemplar lesson plan utilizing language art and social studies which are suitable for all ages, background and culture.
IDEA ensure to make progress toward rigorous college- and career-ready standards and high-quality assessments that are valid and reliable for all students, including English language learners and students with disabilities.	Current events are part of our lives, and need to be integrated in each classroom. All students needs to know about the events that take care in our world, to provide the essential skills to be ready for today's work place.
Each school district must have Individual Education Plan (IEP), in effect for each child with a disability within its jurisdiction.	SCOOP! addresses a variety of issues related to current events, media and social awareness with integrated Inspiration® Software diagrams. The assessments are printable for each students to complete in response to an Individual Education Plan.
Funds can be used for the cost of special education and related services and supplementary aids and services provided in a regular class or other education-related setting to a child with a disability in accordance with the IEP of the child, even if one or more non-disabled children benefit from these services.	SCOOP! Is suitable for children of all ages, from special needs to the most advanced students, making it possible to extend the use of this resource throughout the classroom, improving achievement across the board.
